Making the web more beautiful, fast, and open through great typography. Jun 06, 2020 The fonts are downloaded, installed, and ready to be used. From macOS’s Font Book you can download many other fonts that are available to macOS users for free but are not downloaded by default. Once you have downloaded the new font they will become available everywhere on the system. Now that you have downloaded the new macOS fonts, you can. Fonts stored in a user's /Library/Fonts folder are available to only that user. Previously, up to OS X 10.4, both Mac OS 9 applications running in the legacy Classic Environment and native applications could access fonts stored in the Mac OS 9 system folder macOS includes a software rasterizer that supports PostScript. If you want to see what a font looks like, open the Fonts folder, right-click the font file, and then click Preview. Another way to see your installed fonts is through Control Panel. In Windows 7 and Windows 10, go to Control Panel Fonts. In Windows 8.1, go to Control Panel Appearance and Personalization Fonts.

- First, find some new fonts that you like. There are several websites like DaFont, FontSpace, and Font Squirrel that have huge archives of fonts that are updated regularly. If you want more options, check out this list for a extensive roundup of free resources.
- Download the .zip file that contains the font, and then extract the file.
- Open up the Control Panel. Enter the “Appearance and Personalization” category and then select Fonts.
- Drag and drop your new font into this window, and it’ll be available in Word now.

- The fonts in the following list were included as 'extras' with AppleWorks 6,[1] which was bundled with new iMacs until 2006.[2]
Hidden fonts[edit]
A number of fonts have also been provided with iMovie, iLife, iDVD and other Apple applications in hidden folders, for the sole use of these applications. The reason why these fonts are hidden is unknown, with licensing issues suggested as the cause. However, one may easily install them for use by all applications by copying them out of their Library directories and installing them as with any third-party font, although one should always check that the license for the fonts allows them to be used outside the given software.[3]
Notable hidden fonts on macOS include Bank Gothic, Bodoni, Century Gothic, Century Schoolbook, Garamond, several cuts of Lucida and Monotype Twentieth Century.
